The Valley of Flowers 2026 season is at its peak right now — mid-August is the final fortnight when 600+ alpine species, including the famous Blue Poppy, carpet the UNESCO World Heritage valley above Govindghat. This guide covers the exact route from Dehradun, distance, taxi options, entry permits, timings and a ready 3-day itinerary with Hemkund Sahib.

The road head is Govindghat: approx 290 km / 10–11 hours from Dehradun via Rishikesh → Devprayag → Srinagar (Garhwal) → Karnaprayag → Joshimath → Govindghat. Then Ghangaria 13–14 km trek (pony/porter/shared jeep option) + 3–4 km to the valley gate. Most guests break the night at Joshimath — our drivers run this corridor daily in yatra season (see our Kedarnath taxi guide: https://galaxyhillstaxiservice.com/blog/kedarnath-taxi-from-dehradun for the same highway).
